Shahapounis
Шаапунис · Շահապունիս
Shahapounis is a peak in the Meghri mountains of Syunik region, reaching 2,373 meters in elevation. It stands 6.5 km southwest of the village of Tsav, one of the summits in this stretch of the range along Armenia's southeastern border.
There's no recorded trail or landmark tied to the name beyond its position and height — it appears on maps as one of the Meghri range's fixed points, not as a destination with facilities or a marked route.
Shahapounis sits in Syunik marz (region), Armenia's southernmost province, near Tsav village, roughly 207 km southeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
At over 2,300 meters in a border mountain range, expect snow cover through the colder months and firmer footing only in summer and early autumn.
