Shushan
Шушан · Շուշան
Shushan rises to 3,200 meters in the Gegham mountain range, part of Kotayk region east of Yerevan. It sits north of Lake Akna and west of Mount Aknasar, one of several named summits scattered across this volcanic highland.
There's little written about Shushan beyond its position and height — it's a marker point in the Gegham range rather than a destination with its own infrastructure or lore.
Shushan lies in Kotayk region, roughly 37 km east-northeast of Yerevan as the crow flies, in the Gegham mountain range north of Lake Akna.
At 3,200 meters, snow cover and weather conditions shift sharply between summer and winter, as on the rest of the Gegham range.
