Small Theater

Small Theater — formally the National Centre for Aesthetics' Small Theatre — is a drama company on Abovyan Street in Yerevan. Vahan Badalyan founded it in 1997 as a drama studio, with a stated mission to produce theatre with its own signature and to give young people interested in theatre studies a platform for cultural and educational programs.

The company's plays have worked across genres, moving between drama and dance rather than staying inside one theatrical tradition, according to the theatre's own account of its work.

Since 2006 it has run co-productions, master classes and workshops with foreign theatre companies. One collaboration it names is with the Italian Versiliadanza Cultural Association in 2008, which the theatre says was among its more successful partnerships.

The theatre is on Abovyan Street in central Yerevan.
