The State Museum of Literature and Art after Yeghishe Charents, on Aram Street in Yerevan, collects manuscripts and personal archives tied to Armenian literature, theater, music and film. Its own account of the collection describes holdings running from the 18th century to the present, drawn from individual writers and artists as well as cultural and educational institutions active over that span.

The museum states it has operated for about a century. Its collection includes 2,500 works by the Armenian-American artist Marcos Grigorian, credited as a founder of the earth art movement, which he donated to Armenia in 1993; these pieces form the basis of a Middle East art display.

Alongside its permanent exhibition, the museum runs temporary shows and occasional workshops for children, and has restroom facilities on site.

The museum is in Yerevan itself, on Aram Street, so no separate trip from the city is needed to reach it.
