Surb Hovhannes Church of Voskevaz

церковь Сурб Ованнес · Սուրբ Հովհաննես եկեղեցի

Surb Hovhannes is a basilica in the village of Voskevaz, built sometime between the 7th and 12th centuries. It belongs to the domeless basilica type — a rectangular hall church without a central dome. Restoration work is underway on the building now.

There isn't much more on record about it beyond its type and dating, which places it among the region's early medieval church buildings.

The church stands in Voskevaz village, Aragatsotn province, near Byurakan, about 21 km west-northwest of Yerevan as the crow flies.
