Tagavoranist
Тагаворанист · Թագավորանիստ
Tagavoranist is a hill above Vanadzor, and what puts it on the map is geography, not monuments: this is where the Pambak and Tandzut rivers meet. At 1,519 meters, it sits 1.5 kilometers northeast of the city. Its Armenian name translates to "royal seat." Beyond that, nothing is documented — no recorded structures, no dated ruins, no account of who, if anyone, gave it that name.
From the summit you're looking down on a confluence, not a town. The Pambak and Tandzut come together directly below, one stream folding into the other before the combined flow continues toward Vanadzor.
There's no marked trail or signage confirmed here, and nothing suggests a developed site to visit. Treat Tagavoranist as a viewpoint over the river junction rather than a ruin with something to see up close. Best to check locally before planning a special trip.
Tagavoranist is in Lori region, 1.5 kilometers northeast of Vanadzor, and roughly 70 kilometers north of Yerevan as a straight line.
