Vahanavank is a cathedral of the Armenian Apostolic Church, raised in the 10th and 11th centuries on the right bank of the Voghdji River. It sits at the foot of Tigranasar mountain, a few kilometers west of Kapan, in Syunik province.

Kings and princes of Syunik were buried here — the monastery's role as a dynastic tomb is the one historical detail that survives clearly.

Vahanavank stands in Syunik province, near the town of Kapan. Straight-line, it's about 189 km southeast of Yerevan.
