Varag Ridge
Варагские горы · Վարագի լեռներ
Varag Ridge, also known locally as the Sghnakh or Hakhum mountains, runs for 40 km through Tavush region as a northern branch of the Miapor mountains. It forms the watershed separating the Aghstev river basin from the Varagajur river basin. Mihr is the highest point along the ridge.
The range doesn't carry a visitor infrastructure or marked sites of its own in the record — it's a geographic feature more than a destination, useful mainly as orientation for the rivers and terrain around Ijevan.
Varag Ridge sits in Tavush region near the town of Ijevan, roughly 87 km northeast of Yerevan as the crow flies.
