Vardan Ajemyan Drama Theater
Драматический театр им. Вардана Ачемяна · Գյումրիի Վարդան Աճեմյանի անվան պետական դրամատիկական թատրոն
The theater traces its history to 1928, opening its doors on November 1 of that year with a production called "Mutiny" (Խռովություն). It later took the name of Vardan Ajemyan, honoring the actor and director's connection to the institution.
As with much of Gyumri's cultural infrastructure, the theater has long served as a cornerstone of the city's artistic life, distinct from the capital's larger stages but historically significant for Armenia's second city.
The theater is located in Gyumri, Armenia's second-largest city and the capital of Shirak Province, reachable by road or rail from Yerevan.
