Wine History Museum of Armenia
Музей истории вина Армении · Wine History Museum of Armenia • Հայաստանի գինու պատմության թանգարան
The Wine History Museum of Armenia sits in the village of Sasunik, part of Vagharshapat municipality, and sets out the history of grape-growing and winemaking in the Armenian Highlands.
Its main exhibition hall is built at the level of underground basalt rock, 8 meters below ground. Inside, the story of Armenian wine unfolds in chronological stages, linked to broader threads of Armenian history and culture.
The collection is organized into three strands: archaeology, covering winemaking methods and finds; ethnography, covering tools used in the craft; and manuscripts, covering related historical texts. Tickets can be reserved in advance through the museum's website.
The museum is in Sasunik, part of Vagharshapat municipality in Aragatsotn region, about 18 km west-northwest of Yerevan in a straight line.
