Yeranos

Yeranos marks a 1823-meter high point on the Yeranos mountain ridge, in the Ararat marz (region), close to the region's northern boundary. It sits on the ridge's western half, about 8 km northeast-east of Lanjazat village.

The peak formed through folded and fractured rock movement. Every slope but the eastern one drops off sharply, at grades of 40 degrees or more. On the northwest side, the ground gives way to a 750-meter cliff that falls into the Azat river valley.

Yeranos lies in the Ararat region near Garni, about 17 km southeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
