YEREVAN BASIC SCHOOL № 92 NAMED AFTER VAHAN TEKEYAN State Non-Profit Organization (SNPO)

Basic School No. 92 sits in Yerevan's Malatia-Sebastia district and carries the name of the writer Vahan Tekeyan, given to it on January 27, 1987. The school itself was founded earlier, in 1954.

For its first years the school had no building of its own and operated out of borrowed space in other institutions. It opened its own building in 1959, a single three-story wing at first, later expanded to three wings. Over its history it has been led by five directors: P. Papikyan, P. Mambreyan, B. Zakaryan, A. Khalatyan, and Ts. Mardanyan.

On the second floor is a Hall of Glory dedicated to two former students killed in the Artsakh war, Ararat Mkhitar Elbakyan and Hrachya Sargsyan.

The school is currently headed by director Tsovinar Mardanyan.

The school is in Yerevan's Malatia-Sebastia district, about 5 km west-northwest of the city center (straight-line).
