Yerevan Zoo

Yerevan Zoo opened in 1940 and remains the country's sole zoological park, doubling as a research institution. It occupies a sloped site at the foot of the hills in the city's southeastern district, spread over roughly 35 hectares.
The zoo keeps long, consistent hours, open daily — including Mondays — from 10:00 to 21:00, so it's an easy addition to a Yerevan itinerary regardless of the day.
The zoo sits in southeastern Yerevan at the foot of the hills; taxis or public transport from the city centre are the most practical way in.
As with most outdoor sites in Yerevan, spring and autumn make for the most comfortable visits, avoiding the height of summer heat.
