Fortress Jaghatsi Dar

Fortress Jaghatsi Dar is a cyclopean-stone fortress ruin — walls built of massive, roughly fitted boulders — standing on the northern height at the eastern edge of the plateau that rises through the center of Gavar, on the left side of the Gavarageta valley. Sections of the wall still stand.

The surviving stretch of wall looks across the gorge toward another fortress on the valley's far side.

The fortress sits in Gegharkunik region, on the plateau at the edge of Gavar town, roughly 54 km east-northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
