Aratsin

Aratsin reaches 3,072 meters on the ridge line separating Syunik from Nakhichevan, part of the Zangezur mountain system where the Sisian river has its upper course. The peak lies 10 km southwest of the village of Arevis and 6-7 km southeast of the historical village of Krtn.

The mountain has moderate, sloping sides rather than sheer faces, covered in shrubs and a thin plant cover the Armenian source calls aghkat (a sparse, steppe-type ground cover) — leaving most of the surface nearly bare rock and soil.

Aratsin sits in Syunik region, ~142 km southeast of Yerevan (straight-line), near the village of Arevis and the former village of Krtn.
