Bartaz mountain

Bartaz is a forested peak that marks a stretch of the border between Syunik region and Artsakh, rising to 2,269 m (Armenian sources also give 2,270 m) in the southeastern part of the Meghri mountains. It sits in the Tsav river basin, about 7 km northeast of the village of Nrnadzor.

Armenian records list several name variants for the peak, among them Բարդութաղք, Բարդազ, Բարթազ, Բարթաս, Բարտազ and Պարդազ.

Bartaz lies in Syunik region, on the border with Artsakh, roughly 218 km southeast of Yerevan as the crow flies. The nearest village, Nrnadzor, sits about 7 km to its southwest.
