Dilijan National Park

Дилижанский национальный парк · Դիլիջան ազգային պարկ

Dilijan National Park spreads across the wooded hills of northeastern Armenia's Tavush Province, encircling the resort town of the same name. Its 240 square kilometers make it one of the country's larger protected areas, and the terrain is defined by thick forest cover rather than the bare highland scenery typical elsewhere in Armenia.

The park is known for its biodiversity and for the medicinal mineral springs scattered through its valleys, long a draw for visitors to the region. An extensive network of hiking trails threads through the forest, connecting natural features with cultural and historic monuments preserved within the park's boundaries.

The park surrounds Dilijan town in Tavush Province, in Armenia's northeast, making Dilijan itself the natural base for entering the park and picking up its trail network.

The forested trails are most comfortable to walk from late spring through autumn; winter brings snow to the hills and changes the character of a visit considerably.
