The monument was put in place on 25 May 2016 and formally unveiled three days later, on 28 May 2016, adding to Yerevan's cluster of memorials to figures from Armenia's national history.
The monument sits in central Yerevan's Kentron district, at the intersection of Hanrapetutyan, Aram, and Pavstos Buzand streets — an easy walk from the surrounding downtown area.
