Hakhumi mountain range
хребет Хахум · Հախումի լեռնաշղթա
The Hakhumi range runs through Tavush region, close to Ijevan, stretching about 40 km from the Miapor range northeast toward the Kura lowland. Its highest points reach 2000 m. The rock here is volcanic in origin, and in the range's middle section this has weathered into cuestas — asymmetrical ridges with one steep face and one gentle slope.
Beech and pine forests cover the slopes. The range also marks the watershed between the Aghstev and Hakhum rivers, separating their two drainage basins.
The Hakhumi range lies in Tavush region, near the town of Ijevan, roughly 98 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
