Kenats Mountains

горы Кенац · Կենաց լեռներ

The Kenats Mountains form a 42-kilometer ridge in Tavush marz — one of Armenia's administrative regions — running northeast from Miapor peak. They mark the watershed between the Varagajur and Tavush rivers, the northern edge of the wider Miapor range.

The highest point on the ridge is Kenatsar; no elevation figure is recorded for it.

Geologically it's a fold-block ridge, shaped by erosion. Landscape changes with altitude: mountain-steppe lower down, giving way to mountain-meadow higher up.

The ridge sits in Tavush marz near the town of Ijevan, about 96 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
