Jukhtak Monastery
монастырь Джухтак · Ջուխտակ վանք
Jukhtak Monastery dates to the 11th or 12th century, set in a clearing within Dilijan National Park in Tavush province. The name and setting are modest — a forested rise rather than a hilltop landmark.
It stands close to the church of Matosavank, and a cemetery surrounds that neighboring church. Together the two form a small cluster of Armenian Apostolic religious sites reachable from Dilijan town.
Jukhtak Monastery sits in Tavush province, about 3.2 km northwest of Dilijan town, within Dilijan National Park. In straight-line terms it's roughly 69 km north-northeast of Yerevan.
The monastery lies inside a national park clearing, so forest paths and access can be affected by winter snow and spring mud — plan for outdoor conditions accordingly.
