Kaptach

Kaptach is a lake in Syunik region, resting at 3,283 meters in the Meghri mountains. That elevation puts it well above the valley floor — an alpine pool rather than a lowland one.

It covers just 2.5 hectares. The average depth runs 6 meters, numbers that mark it as a small, shallow mountain lake rather than anything vast.

Kaptach lies in Syunik region, on the southern slope of the Meghri mountains, about 8 km west of Liqk village — roughly 183 km southeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
