Tsakqari

Цахкари · Ծաղկարի

Tsakqari is a lake sitting on the ridge line of the Zangezur mountains in Syunik region, at 3,272 meters above sea level. It covers about 3 hectares — a small body of water this high up, 8 km southwest of the town of Kajaran.

The lake carries several older name variants in Armenian sources, a sign of how remote and lightly documented this stretch of the ridge is.

Tsakqari lies in Syunik region, about 8 km southwest of Kajaran, roughly 181 km southeast of Yerevan as the crow flies.

At 3,272 meters, snow and ice cover likely restrict access to summer and early autumn — plan around that.
