Kashatagh
Кашатаг · Քաշաթաղ
Kashatagh rises to 2,901 meters where the Aregouni and Sevan mountain ranges meet, right on the border between Armenia's Gegharkunik region and Azerbaijan. It sits about 12 km southeast of the town of Chambarak.
The peak is built from volcanic rock dating to the Cretaceous period. Its terrain is rocky and stony, with a mountain-meadow landscape above the tree line. The slopes are steep, bare, and cut through with deep gullies, scattered with fields of loose stone.
The Getik river begins on Kashatagh's northern slopes.
Kashatagh sits in Gegharkunik region, about 12 km southeast of Chambarak, roughly 87 km east-northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
