Kukudagh
Гоги · Գոգի
Kukudagh is the highest point in the Vayk mountain range, reaching 3,120 meters on the border between Armenia's Vayots Dzor region and the Shahbuz district of Nakhichevan. The mountain is built from volcanic rock laid down in the Neogene period, tens of millions of years ago.
Its slopes carry old landslide scars, including a landslide lake, and traces of glaciation from the last Ice Age. The landscape is mountain-meadow: grassy, water-rich, and covered in alpine plants.
The summit sits 6 km northwest of Kuki village and 6.5 km southeast of Martiros village.
Kukudagh is in Vayots Dzor region, about 114 km southeast of Yerevan in a straight line, near the villages of Kuki and Martiros, close to the Nakhichevan border.
