Mkrtich Engibaryan's house

Дом Мкртича Енгибаряна · Մկրտիչ Ենգիբարյանի տուն

Mkrtich Engibaryan's house at 4 Pavstos Buzand Street began as a private residence in 1898, built by architect Boris Mehrabyan, and went on to serve a Soviet-era state institution.

The first owner, Mkrtich Engibaryan, sat on Yerevan's city council and worked as a merchant. From 1894 he exported oil from Persia and Turkey, and this house was his home.

In the 1920s the building changed function: Armenia's central statistical administration moved in and ran its work from the address.

The house stands on Pavstos Buzand Street in central Yerevan.
