Odzaqar sits in the Hakhum mountain ridge in Tavush region, about 20 km northeast of Ijevan. It marks the watershed line separating the Aghstev river basin from the Hakhum river basin.
The peak appears on older Caucasus military maps, at both the 5-verst and 10-verst scales — a sign it was noted as a fixed landmark in regional surveys of the time.
Odzaqar lies in Tavush region, roughly 20 km northeast of Ijevan, and about 114 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
