Putaqar
Путакар · Պուտաքար
Putaqar tops out at 2,737 m, making it the high point of the Aregunyats mountain range in Gegharkunik province. It sits about 5.9 km south of the village of Martuni.
The eastern slope feeds the Khoradzor and Jrtakan streams, both tributaries of the Getik river's left branch. The southern slope sends down the Gomaget stream, a left tributary of the Drakhtik river.
Slopes are covered in rock piles and subalpine vegetation, giving the terrain a rock-strewn, open character typical of this elevation.
Putaqar lies in Gegharkunik province, about 5.9 km south of Martuni village, roughly 78 km northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
Subalpine vegetation and loose rock cover the slopes, so conditions underfoot will vary a lot between snowmelt and late summer.
