Russian Drama Theater

Русский Драматический Театр имени К. С. Станиславского · Կ. Ստանիսլավսկու անվան ռուսական պետական դրամատիկական թատրոն

The Russian Drama Theater is Yerevan's dedicated stage for Russian-language drama, standing on Abovyan Street in Kentron (the central district), right next to Charles Aznavour Square. It opened in 1937.

A year later it took the name of Konstantin Stanislavski, the Russian actor and theatre director, and has kept it ever since. Alexander Grigoryan has directed the theatre since 1965 — a tenure long enough that his name is now almost as bound to the place as Stanislavski's own.

Beyond that, there isn't much publicly documented about the building or its current repertoire.

The theatre sits in Yerevan's central Kentron district, on Abovyan Street beside Charles Aznavour Square.
