Sisian History Museum sits in the town of Sisian, in Armenia's Syunik region, and its collections cover finds from the surrounding Sisian district only. It's named for Nikoghayos Adontc, a historian and Byzantine studies scholar born in the nearby village of Brnakot.

The museum was founded in 1989 as a branch of the History Museum of Armenia and became independent in 1993. Its first exhibition drawn from its own holdings opened in 1997. The building itself dates to 1937 and was fully reconstructed in 1988.

The holdings are organized into archaeological and ethnographic funds, both specific to the Sisian region. Google and Yandex list the museum as suitable for children.

It's open daily, 11:00-18:00.

The museum is in the town of Sisian, in Syunik region, roughly 148 km east-southeast of Yerevan as a straight line.
