Surb Astvatsatsin church

Церковь Пресвятой Богородицы (Куртан) · Սուրբ Աստվածածին եկեղեցի

Surb Astvatsatsin (Holy Mother of God) church dates to the 5th century, a single-nave vaulted hall under a gabled roof. It stands southwest of Kurtan village in Lori region, right at the roadside.

There's little documented beyond its form and age — no inscriptions, restorations, or later additions recorded. What survives is the basic type: one nave, one vault, one roofline, from the earliest phase of Armenian church building.

In Lori region, southwest of Kurtan village, roughly 87 km north of Yerevan as the crow flies.
