Teksari Mountain Range
хребет Тексари · Թեքսարի լեռնաշղթա
Teksari Mountain Range stretches about 20 km southwest from Sandukhtasar peak, part of the Vardenis range, across Vayots Dzor. Its highest point is 3,379 m, and the ridge forms the watershed line between the Yeghegis and Arpa rivers.
The range is built from Paleogene-era volcanic-sedimentary rock and has an asymmetric shape: the northern slopes fall away steeply, while the southern side descends more gradually and is cut through by erosion valleys. Near the southern foot of the range lie lerkut — bare rocky outcrops with little plant cover.
The climate is dry and continental. Lower down, the landscape follows a dry mountain-steppe pattern; higher up, it shifts to mountain meadow.
Teksari Mountain Range lies in Vayots Dzor marz, near the town of Yeghegnadzor, about 86 km east-southeast of Yerevan (straight-line).
