Tseruni Tsar

Церуни Цар · Ծերունի Ծառ

There isn't much recorded about this place beyond its name and its status as a viewpoint on local maps. "Ծերունի Ծառ" translates roughly as "Elder Tree" or "Old Tree," the kind of name that usually points to a single, memorable tree that became a landmark for travelers passing through.

It sits in the wooded hills along the mountain corridor linking the Sevan basin to Dilijan — a stretch of northern Armenia known for dense oak and beech forest and for the kind of informal pull-offs where drivers stop simply because the view opens up. This appears to be one of those spots, quietly noted rather than developed or signed.

The site lies in the forested hill country between Lake Sevan and Dilijan, in the Tavush–Kotayk border area. It's a car-access spot along the mountain road rather than a place with public transport or marked trails, so a private vehicle is the practical way to reach it.

As with most wooded viewpoints in this part of Armenia, the drive and outlook are best from late spring through autumn, when the forest is green and the road is free of snow.
