Yerevan Football Academy

Ереванская футбольная академия · Երևանի ֆուտբոլի ակադեմիա

Yerevan Football Academy is the country's national football training base, where the senior squads prepare for matches under the Football Federation of Armenia. It sits in Yerevan's Avan district. Officially it's called the Technical Center-Academy of the Football Federation of Armenia. Most people just use the shorter name, or call it the Avan Football Academy after the neighborhood.

Construction began in 2007. The academy opened on September 1, 2010. President Serzh Sargsyan attended the ceremony, along with UEFA president Michel Platini and Football Federation of Armenia president Ruben Hayrapetyan.

The center's job is straightforward: build up Armenian football from youth level up. National team squads use it to train and prepare for matches. It also serves children and young players who want to play the game, not just the elite squads. Specific details — pitch counts, surfaces, age groups admitted — aren't listed publicly; that's worth checking directly with the federation if you need them.

The academy is in Yerevan's Avan district, roughly 6-7 km northeast of the city center. No public transport route to the site is documented, so a taxi is the simplest way in. It's a working national training center rather than a tourist site, so check with the federation before assuming you can just walk up and visit.
