Yerevant
Еревант · Երևանթ
Yerevant is a museum of modern and contemporary Armenian art in Yerevan. It was founded in 1972 by Henrik Igityan, who directed it for 37 years, with backing from Yerevan's mayor at the time, Grigor Hasratyan, and support from a number of Armenian painters active in the 1960s.
The museum runs temporary exhibitions and events alongside its permanent collection, which includes work by artists such as Vazgen Bazhbeuk-Melikyan and Varuzhan Vardanyan. It also organizes its own projects, keeps a database of holdings, and sells items through an on-site art shop.
The building has wheelchair-accessible parking, entrance and restroom facilities. Dogs are not allowed inside.
The museum sits in Yerevan, roughly 1 km west-northwest of the city center (straight-line).
