Ijevani Mountains
Иджеванский хребет · Իջևանի լեռներ
The Ijevan Mountains form the ridge that separates two river systems in Tavush region. That's what defines them — not a single peak, but a 32-km spine running from the headwaters of the Haghartsin river to the Aghstev river near Ijevan town.
They belong to the southeastern end of the Gugark mountains, a range named for Gugark, a historical province of northern Armenia. The line is long and continuous, tracing an almost straight course between the two rivers rather than breaking into isolated summits.
Mount Hovk marks the highest point on the ridge. No elevation figure is recorded for it.
The ridge rises above Ijevan town in Tavush region, roughly 91 km north-northeast of Yerevan in a straight line.
