Kaptavanq Monastery

Монастырь Каптаванк · Կապտավանք

Kaptavanq Monastery is what's left of a larger monastic complex in Tavush region — today, only the church still stands. It sits on a small clearing on a forested mountain slope southwest of Chinchin village, with ravines and woodland closing in around it on most sides.

The fortress of Berdakar lies nearby. The site is listed among Chinchin's registered historical and cultural monuments, though no dates or founding details survive in the record.

Kaptavanq stands near Chinchin village in the Ijevan area of Tavush region, roughly 103 km northeast of Yerevan as the crow flies.
