Paravor
Яглыдере · Փառական
Paravor is a peak in Armenia's Syunik region, rising 3,825 meters at the point where the Zangezur and Meghri mountain ranges meet. Locally it's also known as Kapsar; older Russian sources call it Yaglydere.
The mountain is built from Paleogene-era igneous rock — specifically middle Eocene granodiorite-porphyry, diorite, and batholith diorite-porphyry. Its slopes are rocky and sloped toward a cone-shaped summit, with mountain-tundra vegetation appearing in patches across the stone.
Paravor sits in the Syunik region, ~178 km southeast of Yerevan (straight-line), at the junction of the Zangezur and Meghri mountain ranges.
