Yeghegnadzor Regional Museum is the only museum in Yeghegnadzor, the administrative seat of Vayots Dzor marz (province) in southern Armenia. It opened in 1968, and the collection now runs to about 9,000 objects — archaeological finds and ethnological material spanning from prehistoric settlement through the twentieth century. It's open weekdays, 09:00 to 17:00.

Staff here do more than mind the display cases. The museum runs its own research into local history and culture, organizes educational programs, and hosts cultural events through the year. Between 2016 and 2021 it took part in "My Armenia," a joint Armenian-American cultural heritage initiative run with the Smithsonian Institution.

The museum is also named on the official list of Yeghegnadzor's historical and cultural monuments — a recognition of its role in the town, separate from the building it occupies.

Yeghegnadzor sits in Vayots Dzor marz, roughly 85 km southeast of Yerevan as the crow flies. Best to check current transport options locally, since routes and schedules change.
